Emery Rodriguez MS,LPC-Associate
under the supervision of Marissa Rivera, LPC-S
(they/ he) | Therapist
Meet Emery—a multi-ethnic, neurodiverse, queer, transmasculine and nonbinary therapist with deep Texas roots. Navigating multiple intersecting identities, Emery understands the profound impact that societal pressures and expectations can have on our sense of self. In a world built around heteronormative, neurotypical, and white-centric standards, we often absorb messages that tell us we don't quite fit—whether about our race, culture, ability, neurodiversity, gender, or sexuality.
Growing up with limited representation in their community, Emery became fluent in the art of masking, carefully crafting personas to meet the world's expectations. Despite their efforts, they struggled to feel a sense of purpose and belonging, believing the world’s messages that their value and worth lied in their ability to assimilate and conform, to achieve and produce… This left them feeling hollow, burnt out, and incredibly alone, wondering what it was about them that was never enough.
Yet, a deeper truth was lurking under the surface, whispering and waiting to emerge. As they began their own journey in therapy, Emery discovered that liberation comes not from perfecting these masks, but from gently setting them down. This path to wholeness—embracing their gender identity, neurodiversity, and cultural heritage—revealed depths of joy and peace they hadn't known possible. Now, Emery believes that no matter how hard the world tries to stifle us, our identities are sources of strength and resilience and by embracing them, we step into our power. Today, this fuels their passion in gently guiding others to step into theirs.
Drawing from a rich tapestry of healing approaches, Emery blends the wisdom of Relational-Cultural Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology & Attachment, Internal Family Systems, Queer Theory, and body-based healing practices to create a warm, playful space where healing unfolds naturally. Whether you're exploring gender and sexuality, processing trauma, or reconnecting with your body's wisdom, Emery will walk alongside you with genuine curiosity and care. Here, healing doesn't always have to be heavy—sometimes it’s wrapped in laughter, shared memes, and silly pet photos!
In this space, you'll find more than safety—you'll discover celebration. Together, we'll unravel internalized shame, challenge old narratives, and embrace your whole self, moving beyond mere survival into a life that feels authentically, vibrantly yours.
