Selva’s licensed professionals provide comprehensive mental health support and assessment letters for adults pursuing gender-affirming medical treatment, including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and surgery.
As LGBTQIA+ members ourselves, we understand that assessment letters can feel like an unnecessary barrier to gender-affirming care. We bring both our professional competency and personal understanding to this process. Through WPATH standards of care, we prioritize your autonomy and strive to make the documentation process not only affirming, but celebratory too.
*Due to Texas Legislation, we do not provide this service for anyone under the age of 18.
Our Approach
We follow an informed consent model while adhering to documentation requirements established by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care. We recognize you as the expert of your own gender identity and transition needs with our role being to support, uplift, and celebrate your journey.
As a holistic wellness practice, we believe in the wholeness of the human experience. Our providers conduct biopsychosocial assessments to give them a comprehensive understanding of your physical health, psychological well-being, and social support systems. This approach creates a fuller picture of your unique needs and lived experience, and allows our clinicians to fully understand how your gender identity intersects with other aspects of your life.
Rather than focusing solely on gender identity, this holistic approach helps identify additional resources you might need to support your transition journey, whether that's connecting you to LGBTQ+ community groups, addressing concurrent mental health concerns, or navigating family dynamics. This framework also helps us write more detailed, effective letters while identifying any additional support services that could benefit your overall well-being and transition goals.
