Emma Smith, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC (she/her) -- License # 1094093
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner | Board Certified
Warm, Open-minded, Laid-back, Grounded
Emma grew up on a small farm in Massachusetts and still carries a love for cultivating plants—each one unique in its needs, much like people. That adaptability continues to shape how she approaches mental healthcare today.
In 2008, Emma moved to Austin and quickly fell in love with the heart and culture of the city. Along the way, she worked in multiple maternity units and community mental health settings, supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Emma’s curiosity eventually led her to explore innovative treatments, and she now specializes in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), integrating evidence-based medicine with a holistic lens to help people find true healing.
Alongside Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Emma’s practice also encompasses talk therapy and medication management. Each of these approaches is tailored to her clients’ unique needs to facilitate meaningful progress in their mental well-being.
Emma’s approach is curious, compassionate, and grounded, meeting clients wherever they currently are in their life’s journey. With a pragmatic perspective that recognizes the influence of environmental, economic, and societal factors, Emma is committed to a client-centered process that emphasizes self-exploration and collaborative care.
Personal
When Emma’s not working with clients, you’ll often find her soaking up the Texas sunshine — swimming in hidden local swimming holes, cycling around Austin (when the heat allows!), or hiking with her adventurous 10-year-old Australian Shepherd, Henry. At home, she recharges by tending to her garden, cooking with her partner, and exploring new places and cultures through travel. Staying active, connected, and curious fuels both her personal joy and the passion she brings into her work
