Ketamine Therapy

Expanded States for Deep Healing

What Is Ketamine Therapy?

Ketamine was approved by the FDA as an anesthetic in the 1960s. Hospitals worldwide have used it safely for decades. Today, doctors prescribe ketamine off-label to help treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain.

Research shows ketamine can offer relief when other treatments haven't worked. Many people notice improvements within hours or days, rather than weeks.

How Ketamine Works in Your Brain

Ketamine therapy is different from traditional antidepressants. It works by blocking certain brain signals and helping nerve cells form new connections. In your brain, a chemical called glutamate helps nerve cells communicate. This chemical helps your brain control your mood, memory, and decision-making. However, excessive glutamate can damage brain cells and slow down areas affecting mood, stress, and anxiety. Ketamine works by blocking certain glutamate signals in your brain. This helps protect brain cells and allows them to form new, healthy connections, a process called synaptogenesis. These new connections often help to improve your mood and reduce unwanted symptoms.

What Can Ketamine Do?

  • Create space for emotional processing.
  • Enhance access to new perspectives.
  • Develop awareness of conflicts and challenges.
  • Increase motivation for change.
  • Lessen defensiveness and fear.
  • Help your brain form new neural connections.
  • Reduce negative thought patterns.
  • Provide quick symptom relief.
  • Treat depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, chronic pain, and suicidal ideation.
