Emery works with thoughtful, sensitive, and self-aware individuals who hold marginalized identities and experiences and are searching for a greater sense of self and belonging. Many of their clients are struggling with late-diagnosed ADHD, Autism or OCD, low self-esteem, burnout, stress, overwhelm, unresolved trauma, and relationship challenges.

They often support Gen Z adults and Millennials, 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks, empaths, intellectuals, and academics to change their relationships with themselves, their bodies, their communities, and the world around them. Using a relational, holistic, and integrative approach, Emery teaches tools to soothe chronic anxiety, rejection sensitivity, perfectionism, grief, and internalized shame. Throughout the process, they gently guide clients in embracing new narratives, building nervous system resilience, and developing a felt sense of peace and empowerment.

Emery’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and liberation-focused. They blend the wisdom of Relational Cultural Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindful Self-Compassion, and Somatic Embodiment. For deeper trauma work, Emery offers EMDR and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to help shift long-held patterns.

In sessions, clients can expect to examine how relationships and attachment have shaped their sense of self and belonging and explore the parts of themselves that learned to protect, perform, or shut down. Together, they build more compassionate relationships with themselves and their nervous systems, and discover who they truly are beneath their survival strategies. As these areas come together, clients often feel more connected in relationships, more trusting of themselves, and more grounded in their identity.

As a born and raised Texan, Emery became a therapist to offer the affirming care they often struggled to find in their own communities. With multiple intersecting minority identities, they understand firsthand how heavy systemic pressures can feel in everyday life. Their hope is to help clients move beyond survival and create a sense of home within themselves that feels safe and secure.

Emery is EMDR-trained and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A #95263), supervised by Marissa Rivera, LPC-S (#71270). They hold a Master’s in Counseling and Development from Texas Women’s University, and offer virtual sessions throughout Texas and in-person appointments in downtown Austin. Personal

Outside of work, Emery prioritizes rest, movement, and creative expression as a recovering perfectionist. They love to ground themselves through crafting, coloring, mindful walks, stretching, and cuddling with their three pets. Moving into the new year, Emery aspires to expand their creative outlets and explore ceramics, sewing, and painting.

In their free time, Emery often plays with their two dogs (Sansa and Goose) at their local dog park, crafts or catches a movie with friends, and explores Austin’s restaurants and local events. They’re a huge nerd for anything Studio Ghibli and may have a bit of a plant obsession… After a long day, Emery relaxes by curling up with their cat (Haku) and watching a fascinating sci-fi show or an adventurous fantasy book.
