Individual Therapy
Therapy for the Heart, Mind, & Soul
How Therapy Works
At Selva Wellness Collective, we take time to understand who you are, what you’re carrying, and what kind of support you’re seeking. Based on what you share in your inquiry, you’ll be thoughtfully matched with a therapist who aligns with your needs, goals, and lived experience.
You can meet with your therapist in our Austin office (the purple Selva house), via telehealth, or - depending on the therapist - through integrative sessions that may include ecotherapy or somatic-oriented approaches.
Most sessions run 50 or 80 minutes, and within that time, your therapist provides a grounded, regulated, and spacious environment where you can process, explore, and integrate. Sessions are always tailored to your nervous system, your story, and the pace that feels right for you.
If you’re curious about the specific modalities we offer - such as EMDR, IFS/parts work, somatic approaches, mindfulness-based tools, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy - feel free to explore those sections on our website. Understanding the full spectrum of therapeutic options can help you identify what might be most supportive for your healing journey.
Our therapists are also available for a free 15-minute consultation to answer questions and make personalized recommendations for your care
Benefits of Individual Therapy
Therapy at Selva goes beyond symptom relief - it supports real internal transformation. Individual therapy provides a stable, attuned, and nonjudgmental space for self-discovery - one where you can heal, grow, and return to yourself with more compassion, clarity, and confidence. Many clients experience:
Greater self-awareness and emotional clarity
Understanding your thoughts, feelings, and patterns creates a foundation for more conscious choices and healthier relationships.
Improved communication and relational skills
As you understand yourself more deeply, your capacity for connection, boundaries, and self-expression naturally expands.
Reduced symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and overwhelm
Therapeutic interventions help regulate your nervous system, reduce distress, and restore balance.
Strengthened coping skills and stress management
You’ll learn practical tools rooted in psychology, neuroscience, and somatic awareness that support you both inside and outside the therapy room.
A sense of empowerment and agency
As you build internal stability and emotional regulation, you begin to feel more in control of your life, choices, and future.

Frequently Asked Questions
Sessions usually include open conversation, reflection, skill-building, and collaborative exploration of whatever feels most present. Clients set the pace, and therapy adjusts to their needs, comfort, and capacity.
We recommend beginning with weekly sessions for the first three months, which supports momentum, regulation, and deeper therapeutic progress. After that, you and your therapist can determine a cadence that feels sustainable and aligned with your goals. If weekly therapy doesn't fit your schedule or budget, we're happy to work with you to create a treatment plan that honors your needs, capacity, and preferences. Flexibility and accessibility are core values in the way we offer care.
Therapy can be short-term or long-term depending on your goals, preferences, and what feels supportive. Some clients come for a specific issue; others stay for ongoing personal growth and emotional support.
That's completely okay. Many clients start therapy feeling uncertain or overwhelmed. Your therapist will help you explore what you're experiencing and clarify goals at a pace that feels grounded and manageable.
Yes. Many clients appreciate the accessibility and comfort of teletherapy. Online sessions are secure, private, and convenient for clients living across Texas.
