Jourdan Bartels, MA, LPC (she/her) -- License # 89044
Clinical Therapist, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist
Passionate, Warm, Grounded, Playful
Jourdan works with individuals and couples who are longing for more connection-with themselves, their partners, or their communities-but who may find it difficult to get there. Many clients come to her feeling stuck in old patterns, disconnected from their emotions, or unsure how to build the kind of relationships they want. Jourdan supports queer individuals and couples in slowing down, tuning in, and healing the parts of themselves that feel guarded or unseen. With her, clients create space for honesty, growth, and deeper connection-both within themselves and within their relationships.
Her work is grounded in a holistic, relational approach that honors clients’ inner worlds as well as their lived experiences. Jourdan views each client as a whole, complex person who has developed creative strategies to stay safe-strategies that may no longer serve them. She brings curiosity, warmth, and at times gentle humor as she explores what is happening inside clients and between them and others.
Jourdan’s approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Relational-Cultural Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples, all woven through a holistic lens that includes the body, nervous system, and environment. She also has specialized training in the Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), supporting deeper mind-body awareness and experiential healing when appropriate.
She works with people who want to understand themselves more fully and feel more grounded in their relationships. Many of Jourdan’s clients are LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating identity and belonging, as well as couples seeking to repair connection, communicate more clearly, or move through painful dynamics. She also supports clients working through anxiety, complex trauma, PTSD, depression, substance use, shame, perfectionism, and people-pleasing-often patterns rooted in earlier relational experiences and nervous system responses. Her clients tend to be insightful, sensitive, and ready to explore the “why” behind their reactions. Jourdan takes a collaborative approach: clients bring the wisdom of their own lives, and she brings tools to help them make sense of their internal worlds.
As a queer therapist in Austin, Jourdan understands how transformative it can feel to be fully seen and supported in one’s complexity. She brings both compassion and playfulness to the therapy room, because healing can include laughter, curiosity, and relief, not just hard work. Outside of her work, she finds grounding in cooking for loved ones, spending time by the river, and hanging out with her dog.
Jourdan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, offering in-person therapy in Austin and telehealth sessions to clients throughout Texas. If you're ready to cultivate more ease and connection in your life, Jourdan would love to connect with you -- Reach out for a free consultation call.

Personal
Outside of work, Jourdan loves to host and cook nourishing meals for her family and friends. She feels most like herself when she’s cooking, lovingly moving her body on the mat, or being by the river. Jourdan is also a huge dog person; she spends a lot of time with her pup Birdie, walking, cuddling, or socializing with other dogs.
